Design Process
Competitive Analysis
For this step I have analyzed four direct and indirect competitors. The goal was to summarize information in order to categorize the findings and compare the strengths and weaknesses of Learning Hub to other learning management systems (LMS).
Research Insight
To tackle the Research insight , we gather qualitative information (surveys & observation) about our users and we group it by affinity mapping.
User flow (Educator)
Educators can register and teach free online and on-site classes; publish and access educational materials; interact with learners and other educators; share their experiences with the community.
Register as Educator
Create online/on-site Classes
Register as Content Provider
Publish Educational Materials
User flow (Content Provider)
Content providers can publish and reference educational materials on the website, interact with educational materials and users; share their experiences with the community.
User flow (Learner)
Learners can register and attend online and on-site classes; search, read, watch and download educational materials; interact with other learners and educators; share their experiences with the community.
Register Classes as learner
Sitemap
I undertook the task of creating the sitemap for my website, utilizing flowcharts and task flows. These invaluable visual aids helped me to organize and structure the website’s categories, inventories, and establish a clear hierarchy.
Sketches
Using all the collected data and following user flow, I sketched concept wireframes and started visualizing my project. I created up to 30 frames, reshaped, redesigned and tried different components for usability.

Next step
This case study is the first stage of a larger design process for the development of this website. In fact, the next stages shall include a usability test and a further redefinition/iteration of the same. International Learning House was designed for a vast group of users with different demands and proposals. Launching the platform and getting feedback from our actual educators, learners and content providers will help us to improve our learning management system in upcoming versions.
What I’ve learned
- Able to fully comprehend the usage of user flows.
- Familiarized with various learning management systems and their functionalities.
- Learned how to work with short design iterations to streamline the design process.
